(announcement) rename repository into all lower case (of course, another option is fixing index.bs for URL,,)
- current github.io URL might be used at wide range of web pages already, but we could have redirect at immersive-web.github.io for index.html (and some image or resources, if any)
- no tooling may modify github.io URL into all lower case, but considering points like initial comment by @tidoust , as well as all lower case requirement for /TR/ shortname, we are better to align with lower case
close proposals issue? now we have CG draft as https://immersive-web.github.io/body-tracking/

made a proposal: #1436
discuss inline-stereo proposal
I'd like to bring this feature back. Several developers have asked us if they can bring up the browser without quitting the experience. I vaguely remember that we discussed this since 2024 but I wasn't able to find it in the minutes.
My proposal is to have a "toggleOverlay" (or "showOverlay") as proposed here that will show the browser on top of a visible-blurred WebXR session. UA that don't support this may exit the session.
discuss "toggleOverlay"
So my use case right now is in VR when the user takes off their headset. I want to signal to the system that the avatar should go into an idle pose so that the avatar is just not collapsing, whichever way the handset and controllers happen to be put down. If the headset supports the information like the quest 3 does, it would be very useful if this information was available to us to implement for a better user experience.

Hi, we have published our proposal for Spatial CSS here:
- Explainer: https://webkit.github.io/explainers/css-spatial/explainer.html.
- Spec: https://webkit.github.io/explainers/css-spatial/Overview.html
The goal of this work is to let web authors build in-page spatial experiences using familiar CSS patterns.
This introduces three-dimensional layout to CSS, allowing elements to be positioned toward and away from the user. This can create either simple raised-off-the-page effects or a full portal into a 3D world that acts as a window into an independent spatial coordinate system.
Existing CSS positioning concepts such as relative and absolute positioning, inset properties, anchor positioning, and box alignment are extended to work across all three axes.
There are controls that let UAs constrain how far content can protrude toward the user, and capabilities for authors to adapt layouts based on the available spatial depth.

The marker-tracking API should probably have at least one kind of marker format that works reasonably well across a wide range of AR platforms.
- marker-tracking#2 Set up repo - AdaRoseCannon
This needs two champions and some of the existing work from the current "image-tracking" API to be imported.
We spent quite a bit of time discussing this during the face-to-face but I'm unsure what the next steps are.
Apple also mentioned some problems (ie security) with @joshinch 's proposal. it would be nice to understand what those are.

Some 3D resources have encoding of stateful behavior - e.g. the glTF Interactivity proposal and the now-defunct (but still honored)
Preliminary_ActionAPI introduced in Reality Composer 2019.
I'm personally concerned that
posteris under-specified for the things that an author will want to do to represent a<model>. First, the syntax doesn't allow for alternative file formats, for different resolutions or aspect ratios orprefers-color-schemeetc. Add to that the possibility that a good poster/placeholder for amodelelement may even be another model, and it makes me wonder whether there's an appropriate way to meet these needs at all. What does everyone else think?

Meta added support to enhance the quality of composition layers (this includes projection).
I don't remember where we left this but when I turned this on as an experiment, video layers were visibly improvedadd support to layers for different quality settings
The WebXR layers spec defines that the textures that are returned from the binding are always cleared to opaque black.
This feature is hard to implement without incurring GPU overhead especially when dealing with multiple layers.
As far as I know, no experience has ever used this feature and it is not even hooked up in the browser anymore as OpenXR doesn't support it.
- webxr#1310 Add support for 'palmspace' - cabanier
OpenXR added support for a palm pose. This allows an experience to figure out where the user's hand/palm would be when they use the standard OS controller.
- webxr#1311 Duplicated controllers behind trusted UIs - emmanueljl
If an experience doesn't hide its custom controllers when trusted/system UIs are shown, a duplicate pair of controllers will be displayed. Many experiences don't handle this properly, even when blur visibility-change is fired. It was made more apparent with our soft release of system keyboard support.[1] Currently this scenario isn't addressed in the spec, e.g. in the Trusted UI section.
