W3C is pleased to announce the launch of the Web Security Context Working Group whose mission is to enable a secure and usable interface so Web users can make safe trust decisions on the Web. "There is much deployed and proven security technology, but we now need to connect it all the way through to the Web user," said Tim Berners-Lee (W3C). Mary Ellen Zurko (IBM) chairs the group which is chartered to establish requirements and deliver standards for presenting essential security information to users and for ensuring the integrity of that information.
