Participate in MWI Leadership through MWI Steering Council
The Mobile Web Initiative is established and maintained through the financial support of Sponsors.
The W3C MWI Sponsors are involved directly in the leadership of the initiative through their seat on the MWI Steering Council.
Each Sponsor obtains one seat on the MWI Steering Council.
The Steering Council has the following responsibilities:
- Develop MWI-supported W3C Activity Proposals
- Receive reports on the progress of MWI activities by W3C Team members
- Prioritize future work items
- Advise Team regarding marketing and outreach activities
- Set direction of the MWI
- Manage liaisons
Participate in Marketing and Outreach
The W3C MWI Sponsors participate in MWI marketing and outreach in the following ways:
- Press release on joining: W3C reviews a press release announcing that your organization has joined the “Mobile Web Initiative”
- Testimonials: MWI Sponsors have the right to provide testimonials for MWI-related press releases
- MWI Sponsor logo: Special logos have been developed for MWI, and Sponsors have the right to use those on their Web sites, and with other marketing material.
- MWI seminars: Specific, regional outreach events to present MWI to a particular community. MWI Sponsors can provide speakers for these events.
- MWI talks: Talks presenting the “Mobile Web Initiative” at industry events. MWI Sponsors have the right to give MWI talks.
- MWI publications: The “Mobile Web Initiative” will issue publications such as brochures or training material. MWI Sponsors will be mentioned in these publications.
- MWI Tradeshow appearances: The “Mobile Web Initiative” may organize tradeshow appearances (e.g. at the 3GSM World Congress) in order to inform the mobile community about its goals and achievements. MWI Sponsors can participate at these events, e.g. by occupying booth space or sending representatives.
