About W3C Events
This page, whose feed you can subscribe to, lists upcoming events. You can browse past events through the archives at the bottom.
You will find in the W3C groups section, and via their Calendar on each individual group pages, the meetings of W3C Working Groups, W3C Interest Groups and other chartered groups that enable W3C to pursue its mission through the creation of Web standards, guidelines, and supporting materials.
Types of events
W3C engages with its Members through Advisory Committee Meetings, and with the community in a number of events such as W3C Workshops, but also through talks by W3C Staff and W3C work group participants, or by holding various happenings, or through endorsed external conferences.
Endorsed conferences
Endorsed conferences and endorsed sponsored conferences are external events evaluated on a case by case basis according to the following criteria:
- The event is public
- The event is not a single vendor event
- Global event > regional event > local event
- W3C Team members or W3C work group participants are on the program (keynote, talk, panel or booth), or have an active public role on the program committee
- Two free passes at least for W3C
- Optionally, registration fee discount for W3C Members
Happenings
These range from ad-hoc meetings such as developer meetups to public breakouts days, or occasional webinars, yearly web community events.
Submit an entry
Members of the W3C Team or W3C groups typically submit entries to promote their W3C representation at events. Let us know in advance of events that should be featured, or contact us for sponsoring and endorsed conferences.
