Ensuring interoperability of IoT devices and services across heterogeneous platforms, digital twins, and data spaces at scale remains a major challenge.

The W3C Web of Things (WoT) provides a standardized approach to address this challenge by building on proven and widely adopted web technologies. By reusing established web concepts and patterns, WoT enables interoperable, scalable, and vendor‑independent integration of IoT devices and services across domains.

To foster discussion and knowledge exchange around these approaches, W3C Web of Things Working Group and W3C China jointly invite you to join us in the W3C Web of Things Open Day in Shanghai. The event will showcase how WoT technologies work in practice and demonstrate concrete use cases where the WoT approach can be effectively applied to enable interoperable IoT solutions across platforms and ecosystems as well as how physical AI approaches can increase effectiveness.

Following the Open Day, a W3C Web of Things PlugFest will take place over the next three days. The PlugFest offers a hands‑on opportunity to work directly with WoT technologies. Participants are welcome to bring their own IoT devices, experiment with WoT Thing Descriptions, and engage directly with WoT experts to ask questions, exchange experiences, and validate interoperability in practice.
