In our next meetup we welcome Jouni Aro and Iivo Yrjölä from Prosys OPC Ltd. They will show how the OPC UA WoT Connectivity standard can be used to enable quick and reliable onboarding of devices to Prosys Forge. The demonstation includes a few Siemens SENTRON Energy Meters that support Modbus communication. The WoT Thing Descriptions, provided by the manufacturer, enable the on-boarding without manual configuration. WoT Connectivity enables this over a standard OPC UA interface. The Energy Consumption Management Information Model, on the other hand provides a standard model for energy meters and Prosys Forge is a perfect tool allowing the original data model to be converted to this standard, vendor-independent information model to be used in higher level applications.
