This talk will introduce the Sentient Web and Cognitive AI in the context of Industry 4.0, on behalf of the W3C Cognitive AI Community Group. This draws upon advances in the cognitive sciences to mimic what we've learned about the brain in terms of perception, cognition and action, and its mapping to Web architecture using a combination of REST APIs, graph databases, statistics, rules and graph algorithms, together with the Web of Things. A web-based demo will be presented on applying Cognitive AI for real-time concurrent control of factory machinery.
