Yeah, I think this makes sense. There may cases here where shaping shouldn't break but the final presentation may be tricky. For example, color changes within a pair of characters that form a ligatur

I don't think it's an easy task to come up with a good definition of whether shaping is broken or not at inline boundaries, at least not one that will actually be useful for implementations to use as
