Proposed Group: Schema.org – Health & Medical enhancement Community Group
Posted on:The Schema.org – Health & Medical enhancement Community Group has been proposed by Rafael Richards:
The focus is on improving the quality and nuance of the terms in Schema.org to maximize linkability, and to keep it as small, simple, and straightforward for the widest audience possible.
Specifically:
(1) For implementers: to maximize ease of linkage to existing, external, authoritative terminologies, ontologies, etc.
(2) For providers: improve linkability with external sources of authoritative health information sources (NIH, PubMed, MeSH, etc.)
(3) For patients: improve linkability and enrichment of digital content provided to patients from their healthcare providers (such as discharge summaries, lab results, etc.)
(4) For researchers: Enhanced alignment with authoritative, scientific health data publishers.

Thank you,

am afraid this proposed group duplicate the existing one https://www.w3.org/community/schemed/.
Can you join this one and make synergy there?
Just my 2 cents!
Looking at both initiative I fully agree with @jamrob2015
It would be a lost of effort duplicating efforts here rather than synergy.
Can @W3C staff merge the two?
Thanks Bernard and James! I reached out to the proposer a few days ago to run this proposal, but have yet to hear back.
Cheers,
I fully agree with my colleagues James and Bernard. And thanks Coralie.
Actually in https://www.w3.org/community/schemed/ we are trying to improve the first draft http://demoschemed.appspot.com/MedicalEntity which was submitted to schema 1 year ago, and accepted to be an extension. We are calling for contribution for this and I am convinced the Rafaels input can be crucial here. It’s purely in line with what he propose and what we already offered and are improving.
Sure we will discuss this with other community members once he can join the https://www.w3.org/community/schemed/ and available on the dedicated mailing list. Lot of discussions are happening there.

Marc

HEALTH.SCHEMA.ORG EXTENSION
Yes, from a schema.org perspective it would be great if this effort and schemed could happen in the same forum…
