Call for Participation in MySignals Community Group

The MySignals Community Group has been launched:

The purpose of this Community Group is to develop an extensible, stateless protocol that enables individuals to inform service providers of their preferred interaction terms. This is achieved by communicating “signals” between the user agent (browser) and the service provider’s website. Under the MySignals specification, a developer defines a signal as a URI. The protocol specification outlines how this URI is encoded into a new browser header (Sec-MS) and how the website acknowledges it to indicate support. Because this specification focuses strictly on transport and not semantics, the explicit meaning of the URI is out of scope and left entirely to the developer.

This group will publish Specifications.

In order to join the group, you will need a W3C account. Please note, however, that W3C Membership is not required to join a Community Group.

This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2026-08-10 by Paul Trevithick. The following people supported its creation: Paul Trevithick, Phil Windley, Thorn Tayloe, Alex Yukhymenko and Valeska O'Leary. W3C’s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.
