Proposed Group: Healthcare Services Business Group

The Healthcare Services Business Group has been proposed by Rachel Yager:

The mission of the Healthcare Services Group (“Healthcare Services BG”) is to foster ongoing participation by members of the healthcare services industry and the overall ecosystem in developing the Web for healthcare services and to serve as a conduit for feedback between the healthcare services ecosystem and W3C.

The group’s primary activity is fostering and advancing the adoption and continued development of relevant W3C Working Groups, such as Accessibility, Ontology, Dataset, WoT, Privacy, Identity, and Security. The group will primarily collaborate on developing use cases and adopting new technologies specific to the healthcare services industry.

The Healthcare Services BG also collaborates with W3C Members, Chapters, and Staff to sponsor and advance additional activities that help lead the Web to its full potential for Healthcare Services (events, webinars, training, marketing, and promotion, etc.).

The BG participants are from the healthcare services industry, a vast, multifaceted ecosystem encompassing many entities and sectors. At the heart of this ecosystem are several key components: government healthcare policies, healthcare providers, third-party payers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device manufacturers, and healthcare IT companies.

This group will not publish Specifications.

You are invited to support the creation of this group. Once the group has a total of five supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work. In order to support the group, you will need a W3C account.

Once launched, the group will no longer be listed as “proposed”; it will be in the list of current groups.

If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org

Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
