Call for Participation in SPARQL 1.2 Community Group
Posted on:The SPARQL 1.2 Community Group has been launched:
The SPARQL 1.2 Community Group is a forum for discussion and refinement of SPARQL 1.1. It will document features found as extensions to available triple stores and also document common needs from the user community. The CG aims to create consensus and understanding of the impact of new features with special emphasis on features that leave existing SPARQL 1.1 queries and systems unchanged. The CG will build a collection of such features leading to a CG report on use cases and requirements.
In order to join the group, you will need a W3C account. Please note, however, that W3C Membership is not required to join a Community Group.
This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2019-03-29 by Andy Seaborne. The following people supported its creation: Andy Seaborne, Ruben Taelman, Adrian Gschwend, Willem Broekema, John Snelson. W3C’s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.
The group must now choose a chair. Read more about how to get started in a new group and good practice for running a group.
We invite you to share news of this new group in social media and other channels.
If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please email us at site-comments@w3.org
Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
Hello guys, I’ve been working on a few articles that I have published under agnos.ai on Medium.com that I would like to share with you.
I think that the great thing about these articles is that they use a RDF triplestore that was migrated from a well-known sample relational database, which allows people to run SQL and SPARQL queries side by side. This can be very useful for learning SPARQL, when you already know SQL, or to validate new feature proposals for SPARQL 1.2, for example, where you can show what you want in SQL, and then validate future implementations by running SPARQL against a equivalent triplestore.

Hi Marcelo,
This mail was stuck in a spam queue for 3.5 years that I did not even know exists, and stumbled upon by chance.
Approved now 🙁 sorry for the extreme delay.
Regards,
Jerven
Hello, I entered this group today.
I already had the joy to work with
Linked Data/Semantic Web/SPARQL 1.1
in an EU project between 2013-2015.
Is this an active group?
I do not see any posts except 1 in the dashboard. Am I missing something?

Hi Frank,
This mail was stuck in a spam queue for 2.5 years that I did not even know exists, and stumbled upon by chance.
The group is active, but a bit less since RDF/STAR RDF/1.2 WG started.
We decided to be active on github instead of the mailing lists.
https://github.com/w3c/sparql-dev
Due to both overlap in their membership and the community waiting on what the WG delivers so that the CG ideas will work with them.
Regards,
Jerven
