Call for Participation in Organisation Profile Documents Community Group

The Organisation Profile Documents Community Group has been launched:

The aim of this group is to explore and develop a set of specifications for Organisational Profile Documents (OPDs). In particular we are interested in the usefulness of a machine readable OPD for the automatic discovery of resources in UK higher education institutions.

Possible outcomes of the project would be:

· Produce a specification for OPD
· Create the documentation/supporting materials for OPDs
· Promote the OPD to new organisations

There is some support/resource from a UKHE funded project, data.ac.uk, more information on OPDs http://opd.data.ac.uk

In order to join the group, you will need a W3C account.

This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2014-09-22 by Andrew Milsted. The following people supported its creation: Andrew Milsted, Emanuil Tolev, Giuseppe Sollazzo, Ethan Dagner, Giosue' Maugeri. W3C’s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities.

The group must now choose a chair. Read more about how to get started in a new group and good practice for running a group.

We invite you to share news of this new group in social media and other channels.

If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please email us at site-comments@w3.org

Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
