Proposed Group: Semantic Agent Communication Community Group
The Semantic Agent Communication Community Group has been proposed by Hsin Yi Chen:
The group develops ontology and semantic structures for communication between AI agents operating as delegated and accountable technical principals.
Work focuses on schemas for identity binding, capability disclosure, semantic intent modeling, structured delegation chains, and verifiable execution accountability that connect Web semantics with operating-system contexts and hardware-anchored trust elements.
The objective is to establish a coherent semantic layer capable of supporting interoperable agent-to-agent communication across heterogeneous computational environments.
This work extends Semantic Web foundations—including RDF, Linked Data, DID, and Verifiable Credentials.
Toward agent-native interaction models. Outputs may include conceptual frameworks, shared vocabularies, data schemas, delegation ontologies, and draft interaction structures that may inform future standardization
You are invited to support the creation of this group. Once the group has a total of 5 supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work. In order to support the group, you will need a W3C account.
Once launched, the group will no longer be listed as “proposed”; it will be in the list of current groups.
If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org
Thank you,

We already have proposed ontology files. please see github: https://github.com/slashlifeai/agent-ontology?tab=readme-ov-file
I supported the group.
Will it cover LLM and agentic communicaiton like MCP, A2A, Functions etc?
I looked at the ontology. Some parts (Identity, Security binding, Capability) are similar to what’s already covered in WoT (Web of Things) ontologies, so let’s make sure there is reuse.
Let’s discuss Charter/Scope in https://github.com/slashlifeai/agent-ontology/issues/2 (I posted my 2 prev comments as bullets in that issue)
