Proposed Group: Schema Generator Community Group

The Schema Generator Community Group has been proposed by Hans Polak:

Schema Generator is an existing Free Software tool that helps generate valid XML Schema output. This output can be validated with W3C.org Schema validator.

* This is, in effect, related to schema.org. However, I feel that the schema.org mailing list is geared towards ontologies, and discussing the features of the tool might be distracting for some.

* The tool already generates a subset of valid schemas in microdata, JSON-LD or RDFa.

It must be extended to add ‘Roles’ and some other features like repetitions. A major rewrite would be required for the generation of example schemes for proposed ontologies.

The source code is available here .

The goal of this group is to discuss specifications to improve the tool.

You are invited to support the creation of this group. Once the group has a total of five supporters, it will be launched and people can join to begin work. In order to support the group, you will need a W3C account.

Once launched, the group will no longer be listed as “proposed”; it will be in the list of current groups.

If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org

Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
