Call for Participation in Web Array Math Community Group

The Web Array Math Community Group has been launched:

The purpose of this group is to develop a specification for high performance, low latency typed array processing for the Web.

The basic idea is to create an API that makes it possible to utilize hardware level parallelism, such as SIMD instructions, by providing methods that operate on whole arrays rather than single elements at a time.

In order to join the group, you will need a W3C account.

This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2013-11-14 by Marcus Geelnard. The following people supported its creation: Marcus Geelnard, Robin Berjon, Doug Schepers, Jens Nockert, Olivier Thereaux, Colin Clark. W3C’s hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of its activities.

If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please send us email on site-comments@w3.org

Thank you,
W3C Community Development Team
