TPAC/2020/GroupMeetings
Introduction
Due to COVID-19, TPAC 2020 will be a fully remote event. The usual TPAC objectives remain:
- Groups schedule a Group meeting to which observers are invited so that members of our community have the opportunity to see the work of the W3C groups.
- Groups schedule joint meetings with other Groups
- Breakout sessions will discuss specific topics of interest.
All meetings will be held on-line ("virtually"). Because we will not be all together in the same timezone, scheduling the meetings has new challenges. However, we also will not try to force all of the above into just five days.
TPAC 2020 will spread over several weeks:
- September and October: WG/IG/BG/CG meetings, inviting observers
[Not overlapping TPAC breakout week 26–30 October as the main objective of that week is to focus on breakout sessions, connect with people and work on new ideas. The objective is to give the participants the time and the chance to fully participate in this week without having to attend any other W3C Meetings that same week.] - 12-16 October: Joint Group Meetings (please reserve this week for that purpose)
- 26-30 October: Breakout sessions (please reserve the "golden hour" of 1400-1500 UTC each day of this week for this activity)
Those who are eligible to attend the group and joint meetings are:
- a participant in a W3C Working, Interest, Business or Community Group scheduled to meet for TPAC
- a W3C Member Advisory Committee Representative
- a participant on the Advisory Board or the TAG
- an employee of a W3C member organization
- an invited Guest
- a W3C Evangelist
- W3C staff or W3C Office chapter
Observer and Guest Attendance: Eligible participants may request to attend as an Observer via the registration form.
Community Group Participants: Any participant of a CG scheduled to meet will be able to attend other group meetings if one of the above criteria is fulfilled.
Group chairs, please read the details below and fill in the appropriate table(s).
There are three different tables for the following meetings:
- Working Group [WG], Interest Group [IG], Business Group [BG] Meetings
- Community Group [CG] Meetings
- Joint Group Meetings
Please indicate the meeting status codes when you will fill in the tables:
- CONFIRMED [The meeting is totally confirmed]
- TENTATIVE [Set of dates chosen but the meeting is not 100% confirmed]
- ON HOLD [Possible dates and times; we are still narrowing down]
Note that only the groups with the [CONFIRMED] status will be added to the global meeting schedule [1] and to the registration form. Please do your best to confirm your meetings before registration opens on 8 September. However, if you are unable to confirm your meeting before registration opens, it will be added to the schedule and the registration form later when you do confirm.
Please do your best to select times that will allow a broad participation among meeting attendees and observers all around the globe.
WG/IG/BG Group Meetings details
This year, the groups will organize their distributed meetings and decide whether they want to appear on the global meeting schedule W3C will publish. The groups decide when and for how long they want to meet.
While the schedule will be public, the specific teleconference details should remain Member-only.

Community Groups will be able to meet during the Fall 2020 TPAC event. The groups will organize their distributed meetings and decide whether they want to appear on the global meeting schedule we will publish
Registered participants in W3C Community Groups may participate in their CG meeting. See the above participation rules for the attendance of any other meetings.
