Participants

Stein Erik Skotkjerra, Kosei Oki, Pär Lannerö, Miia Kirsi, Sanna Kramsi, Umut Gultekin, Erik Gustafsson Spagnoli (taking notes), Christer Janzon, Tobias Nyhuus Jensen, Anne Thyme Nørregaard.

Notes

EAA status

Sweden

  • Since January: 11 new websites and 2 products being monitored
  • Total monitoring stats: 28 websites, 15 products. Monitoring closed for 1 product.
  • Banks are included in the monitoring plan for 2026.

Denmark

An update from the Danish Sikkerhedsstyrelsen on their EAA monitoring:

  • 86 Websites, 16 Products, and 26 Companies are being monitored.
  • Everything is dialogue-based so far, no active enforcement before the harmonised standards are in place.
  • Sikkerhedsstyrelsen will also not challenge undue burden, will not ask for documentation, or evaluate it. There’s a need for lobbying work to counter this unfortunate loophole.

Finland

Miia can reach out and ask more until next meeting.

E-books

For E-books in Finland, WCAG AA is specified right now. Pär mentioned Daisy consortium has a new specification for E-books. EN 301 549 can be applied to the readers.

EN 301 549 status

Current. Some countries have in enquiry voted against the standard, and 12.8.3 was deemed not sufficient. The October deadline for publishing is probably going to be pushed forward.

Experiences from IAAP & Vially event in Dublin (workshop on EN 301 549 draft updates)

Tobias, Stein-Erik, and Kosei visited the event in Dublin. The Wayfinding Centre. Great experience with modes of accessible transportation.

Workshop on EN 301 549 draft updates

The EN draft can be found here:
https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_en/301500_301599/301549/04.01.00_20/en_301549v040100ev.pdf

They participated in the workshop about 11.5.2.11 “List of available actions” and 11.5.2.12 “Execution of available actions”. It was hard to get any valuable outcome out of the workshop as details were discussed in depth (e.g., “What is an ‘action’?”), and strong voices were shadowing others. Could have been facilitated more constructively.

Pär and Sanna recalled that the discussions worked better in Helsinki. The outcome, on the other hand, was quite similar, according to several participants.

IAAP outcomes from Dublin to be presented on 26 February 14.00-15.30 CET https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Ytg7m_ycSIG4pyjH6DJ3wg#/

A suggestion is to open up understanding of the standard in this group. Try a workshop next meeting, with one of the simpler criteria from the EN 301 549 draft, such as “Biometrics”.

Next meeting

Wednesday, March 18, 14:00 – 14:50
