1There are a number of ways in which you can contribute to the work of this group.
Attend our regular open meetings. These hour long video conference calls take place on a fortnightly basis and provide us with an opportunity to have regular, more detailed discussion on our current work. The calls are recorded so if you can’t make a call then you can catch-up later. The calendar of events can be viewed online or imported into your calendar.
Read our outputs and send us feedback. As we develop our draft specifications and develop prototypes of our tools it’s essential we get feedback from the community. So tell us what you think!
Read the documentation and then let us know what works or doesn’t work for your data or your application. You can provide feedback by sending an email to the mailing list via (public-openactive@w3.org) with your comments. All of our specifications also include a link to an issue tracker where you can contribute feedback.
Use the published opportunity data and tell us what you learned. There are a lot of organisations already publishing open data and many of them have already adopted our standards. If you’ve used the data then take a few minutes to share with us (and the wider community!) any insights you’ve gained.
If there are ways to improve the quality of the data then tell us your ideas so we can improve our tools and standards.
Adopt our standards. If you’re already publishing data, then make sure you’re using our latest standards, especially the opportunity data specification.
Sharing your experiences of implementing the standards helps us understand what type of support is needed and where we may need to extend our work.
Share your ideas. Your feedback needn’t be restricted to commenting on draft documents. If you have thoughts and suggestions about areas of further work, or would like to collaborate with others, e.g. on an open source tool or implementation, then please also send an email to the mailing list.
