ISSUE-506: Progressbar: Consider whether accessible name should be required

Progressbar: Consider whether accessible name should be required

State:
CLOSED
Product:
ARIA 2.0
Raised by:
James Craig
Opened on:
2012-04-30
Description:
Many native OS progress bars are left unlabeled because context is clear (e.g. the progress bar in an "install" dialog is the install progress, even if it's not labeled.) Note: In 30 Apr 2012 conference call, James C, Matt K, and Rich S thought this could be a SHOULD not a MUST, but Joseph S objected to the removal of this requirement.

The group discussed this on October 13, 2016. This is being closed as the group wants to keep it required as is.
