Are we going to add new tasks to the draft plan on the Wiki as a group or should people step up and fill it out themselves based on tasks the volunteered for in the Gant chart? |

I'm a little concerned about goal - "Create the WAI site as the #1 Go-To place for web accessibility". How do we do this when many commercial (and non-profit) groups are putting out regular practical advice that we can't match. |

https://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/wiki/WAI_site_plans has: "The highest priority for the IA of the site is to have really good search ability" – Is there any reason to wait to do that? I'd like for us to consider making that a short-term fix that we start very soon. The following are comments related to current info on: https://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/wiki/WAI_Website_Redesign "Create the WAI site as the #1 Go-To place for web accessibility." – This goal seems related to both content and design. That is, the WAI site can only meet that goal if it has all the content that people want. But we won't – that's not the role of the WAI website. It seems like we'd we want a goal for the "redesign" project that is based on design, usability, etc. (including information design, e.g., of specific pages/content), rather than relying on content (that is, creating lots of new content). "Empower web professionals with tools they need to be effective in creating and improving accessible web products." This also seems too related to content rather than design. "Inspire people to care about web accessibility" While I think this is a good goal, I'm not sure it's the first secondary goal. "Provide multiple entry points and pathways for people across varied roles" Depending on what this means, I'm not sure I agree. But I'm not sure what exactly it is saying. I think the "Secondary goals include:" list should either be fleshed out or deleted. I think many points from the previous vision are goals for this redesign: https://www.w3.org/WAI/redesign/analysis-sum#vision I'm not sure where this fits, but I think it's an important point: * Site visitors have an idea of what else is on the site. E.g., if someone is given a link and goes to one page, when on that page they get an idea of what else they can find on the WAI website. "Visual design should be: Engaging/Inspiring, Reliable/Credible, Clear/Practical " – like it! I think that's not only for the overall visual design, it's also for the information/content design. |

A major dependency for EOWG to be successful in the WAI site redesign is the ability to group participants to actively contribute to the work. It is likely that EOWG participants will be project leads, Eric will be tech lead, and we will rely on active iterative content and design review. Please indicate your interest and availability.

Can you send a link to the Wiki Draft Project Plan? I think it's the one I added my commitment to but want to be sure. BTW There is a fantastic Digital Art Director at Comcast who would love to be involved in the design process. |
Shawn Lawton Henry | I want to contribute lots -- but have limited time. :( |
