Dates and Costs
Introduction
The table below shows all the dates on which we are planning to run the Introduction to W3C's Mobile Web Best Practices course. As well as the online version, we also run live events during which we deliver roughly half the material. This is a great opportunity to meet the tutors and fellow participants before completing the course online in the following weeks.
| Start Date | End Date | Format | Cost | Registration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12th October 2009 | Friday 11th December 2009 | 9 weeks online. [Specific Details] (Registration remains open but participants will need to work hard to catch up) | € 99 | Register Now! |
Future courses will be listed here as soon as dates are finalized and announced via the mailing list to which you are encouraged to subscribe.
Comparison of the Two Versions of the Course
Advantages of online course include:
- You do not need to travel to a face-to-face training event - you can follow the course from your home or workplace.
- Costs are reduced, both in terms of the course fee and travel to/from the venue.
- You can follow the course at a time of day or night that is convenient for you - there is no set meeting time.
- You can work at your own pace, making rapid progress through the material with which you are already familiar, taking as much time as you need over the less familiar material.
- As long as you have a computer and a connection to the Internet, you can take the course anywhere in the world (even on vacation!).
Advantages of the live course include:
- The overwhelming advantage of the live event is that you get to meet the tutors and your fellow participants. There's plenty of time to discuss the issues, share experiences and network with other mobile Web developers.
- A lot of the material is covered in a single day, with the option of completing the course in your own time over the following weeks..
- You can complete the online modules at any time during the remaining weeks - there is no set meeting time.
- The live portion of the course is delivered in modern, open venues with plenty of free food and drink on offer throughout the day.
Whether at the live event or online, you have direct access to experts!
