This task force has been set up to strengthen awareness of the technical and business benefits of the Web of Things.
Task Force Lead: Yingying Chen
The task force will conduct its work through:
- public-wot-comms@w3.org dedicated email list and archive
- Monthly teleconferences, and to conduct most of our work via email and with the wiki.
Participation in the Communications Strategy Task Force is open to all, and includes the W3C staff contacts, the Interest Group chair and others willing to lend a hand. If you would like to join, please contact Yingying Chen <yingying@w3.org>.
Mission
The Communications and Collaboration Task Force has the following responsibilities:
- Supporting outreach to external communities via the preparation of slide sets, the use of social media, and review of the Web of Things Interest Group's website.
- Tracking and prioritizing conferences and other events relevant to the Web of Things. We plan to encourage and support people inside and outside of the Interest Group when it comes to talking at such events about W3C's work on the Web of Things.
- Tracking and prioritizing opportunities to reach out to open source projects and maker community events relating to the Web of Things.
- Tracking and collaborating with IoT industry alliances and standards development organizations. This includes invitations to present external work to the Interest Group and vice
- Support for the W3C Business Development team in respect to identifying potential new member organizations.

Member Recruiting Strategy for the Web of Things
This task force will develop a strategy for recruiting and retaining members for the W3C work on the Web of Things. This will address which application domains we want to prioritise, the best means for reaching prospects within those domains, and the gathering of information about prospects and the status of the dialog with them.
Note that this Team wiki should be used for information we aren't ready to make public.
