Description:

it would be very useful to allow aria-invalid to point to a custom error message. Generally people use aria-describedby to specify error messages associated with a field - but iOS and OSX don't read aria-describedby in a timely fashion.
It would be nice to allow aria-invalid to point to a message which could then be read urgently - or even introduce a new aria-errorid attribute which could point to an error message which a user agent MUST read out.
Errors are too important to leave to the vagaries of aria-describedby.
