Meeting minutes

minutes

<kaz> Aug-3

Sebastian: need to review two minutes, Aug 3 and Aug 10

McCool: typo: joined -> joint

Sebastian: JSON-LD, APA; will discuss APA later today
… talked about publications, wide review, testing, charter extension, liaisons, WoT CG, TF reports...
… any objections to publishing Aug 3 minutes?
… hearing none, will publish

<kaz> Aug-10

Sebastian: now Aug 10 minutes
… some discussion of profile next steps, options

Sebastian: what we do with profiles depends on next plugfest in late sept/oct
… but if no progress by then, will have to postpone
… did some TPAC planning, discussed pre-meeting
… want to include WoT CG and Japanese WoT CG
… had a resolution to start two-week review for Discovery and TD

McCool: note that by TPAC we will be well past the two-week review period

Sebastian: also reviewed number of at-risk items
… no news yet from DTDL

Sebastian: any objections to publish?
… hearing none, will publish

quick updates

WG rejoining

<kaz> rejoin form

Sebastian: WoT WG rejoin procedure - may need to ask your AC rep, need to rejoin since charter was updated
… needed to get emails, work on github PRs
… still 22 orgs are missing

McCool: did see reminder emails

Cancellations

<kaz> Cancellations and Schedule Updates

Sebastian: many cancelled meetings over the next few weeks
… see wiki for summary

McCool: not sure if we will have discovery and security next week, will send an email to see who is available

dape: scripting we also need to check for next week

Sebastian: regarding pre-TPAC, will discuss later
… reorganizing

McCool: if you want to cancel a meeting, please update the wiki and I will cancel in the W3C calendar over the weekend

Sebastian: will cancel the ones I know about, e.g. TD

TPAC

<kaz> WoT TPAC agenda

<kaz> pre-TPAC agenda

<kaz> (McCool gives summary of the TPAC agenda and pre-TPAC (which now should be "post-TPAC") meeting agenda)

McCool: number of things that we needed to shuffle around due to sebastian; need to confirm dates

Sebastian: any concerns with the proposed dates?

Kaz: given Sebastian's availability, etc., we need to shift the date and consider the possibility of a "post-TPAC" meeting as well.

McCool: let's just confirm dates, we can still tweak the agenda

Sebastian: ok, let's do a resolution

RESOLUTION: have pre-TPAC meetings on Sept 6 (M), 7 (T), and post-TPAC Sept 20 (T), 21 (W), 22 (th), at 8-10 Eastern

Sebastian: I have corrected dates in wiki

McCool: I will reorganize later to put in order

McCool: there was also an email to APA I drafted (reviewed, sent)

Sebastian: other TPAC things... early bird is over, but reg needed

publications

<kaz> (McCool gives updates on TAG reviews)

McCool: Architecture still need some more work
… will have discussion during the Security call on next Monday
… issues with testability of security/privacy assertions

(Sebastian mentions a remaining issue from i18n for Discovery)

i18n-request issue 175 - Web of Things (WoT) Discovery 2022-04-27 > 2022-08-30

McCool: as far as I know all internationalization issues for discovery have been dealt with

Kaz: noticed some were closed, but we are still working on them

Kaz: if things are closed, we should stop discussion

McCool: mostly this only applies to tag issue; should reopen until it is done; otherwise, if closed, should stop discussoin

McCool: kaz, if you have Dan's email, can you contact him

Kaz: can let you know about Dan's email

Sebastian: regarding TD, WD published last week, made call for review for CR transition, now one week in
… also new working draft

RESOLUTION: Start two-week review process today, Aug 17 for current editor's draft of Discovery as CR candidate, with a resolution to make CR transition during TPAC meetings (optionally, post-TPAC meetings).

McCool: not sure current version can be considered a CR candidate, need to do some assertion cleanup

McCool: I think if we do this the week immediately after TPAC it works with the schedule --- just

McCool: regarding testing, still working on various IR things
… will be emailing people to update implementation descriptions

Sebastian: regarding liaisons, a doodle poll ongoing for next OPC UA

McCool: please tweak the post-TPAC meeting schedule based on the result of the poll

Kaz: think our own pre-TPAC and post-TPAC meetings should have higher priority than the liaison meeting at this stage

McCool: true, just pointing out it is currently on the agenda, may need to take it out
… also, we should keep management and technical topics separately
… things like terms of an MOU should be done in a smaller group

TPAC breakout

<kaz> WoT demo breakout

McCool: has submitted a proposal for TPAC breakout

WoT CG

Ege: wot cg, need to figure out arrangement so people can join without registering

McCool: we could move it to pre- or post- meetings
… also attending breakouts does not require registration
… also want to point out breakout proposal, will aim for 3pm PT slot

Kaz: we need to organize this, and not all steps can be done in the IG/WG

Kaz: technically, CGs can do anything they want, but this time specifically, the WoT CG would like to collaborate with the WoT-IG/WG and also would like to take over some of the WoT-IG's roles, so we need to clarify which group would take what roles.

McCool: right, and note that Ege is doing some prep work offline, contact him if you would like to discuss

<kaz> [adjourned]
