W3C10 Asia Symposium

The symposium consists of three panel discussions with luminaries from Japan and Asia whose contributions have played a key role in promoting the Web, ensuring that the Web is open and accessible to everyone, and helping the Web to reach its full potential in Asia:

"Role of W3C at Keio – From Foundations to the Future" reviews the past decade beginning with the establishment of W3C at Keio University in Japan, and looks to its role in the future, from the viewpoint of Keio alumni and people involved in establishing the W3C Asia Host.

"How Japanese Industry Works with Web Standards" reviews the past decade of Web activities, discusses how Japanese industry works with Web standards, and foresees the next decade of Web development, from different viewpoints in Japan.

"How Asia Will Influence the Future Web" reviews the past decade of Web activities and W3C's role in Asia, discusses how Asian dynamics drive the Web, and looks at the future and the next decade of Web development, from different viewpoints in Asia.

The symposium closes with reflections and projections in a dialog with Dr. Jun Murai, Vice-President of Keio University, and Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, KBE, inventor of the World Wide Web and founder of W3C.
