2. Editorial Update of Tutorials for WCAG 2.1

A complete preview of the tutorials with all changes is available.

The tutorials were updated to reflect editorial changes for WCAG 2.1. This mainly means changing references from “WCAG 2.0” to “WCAG 2” in the template and content. The following example shows a diff of the extent of the changes on most pages:

  • The Page Structure Concepts page is a good example for what changed in the template: “Related WCAG 2.0 Resources” becomes “Related WCAG 2 Resources” and the same change happens in the sentence inside the box.

Here are some pages with changes that go beyond the template as diffs:

  • Tutorials Home: Here the link to the Quick Reference was changed and the introductory sentence was changed to mention WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 explicitly.
  • Carousels Styling: While WCAG 2.1 was in development, we used the findings of the Mobile TF to mention at a good target size. Now that WCAG 2.1 provides concrete guidance, we can simplify the sentence and also mention the WCAG SC in the “Related WCAG 2 Resources” section on the bottom.
  • Caption & Summary for Tables: We mention two “WCAG 2.0” techniques. As those techniques are also present in WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.0 is changed to WCAG 2.

Planned publication of the change is Friday September 14th, 2018. If you have any feedback on the changes above, open a GitHub issue or leave a comment below.

  • Word-smithing suggestions and typo correction very welcome. We are trying to catch all significant issues at this stage. Please indicate if your comments are strong or if they are meant for editor's discretion in GitHub or the comment section below.

Shawn Lawton Henry
Stéphane Deschamps Small conjugation typo:
“Such innovations lead to the wealth of personal digital assistants in many homes and offices.”
should be
“Such innovations led to the wealth of personal digital assistants in many homes and offices.”
(preterit)

Also: “Change is occured incrementally and steadily.” I don't know if “occur” can be used in the passive form, I leave it to you English-speaking natives. ;)

“Case Study: Juan Carlos Gil vs. Winn-Dixie retailer”: the year it happened would be a useful information, I think.

Last typo: s/enagage/engage/

For the rest, very good paper, great job!
