<wseltzer> trackbot, start teleconf

<trackbot> Sorry, but no Tracker is associated with this channel.

<elf-pavlik> \o/

<dahacouk> Ha! ;-)

<jasnell> having difficulty dialing in

<lehawes_> Zakim: +1/978.238.aaa is lehawes

<lehawes_> For anyone trying to phone in, the Zakim code for this meeting is "SOCL#"

<jasnell> for the conversation... https://www.w3.org/wiki/Activity_Streams/Expanded_Vocabulary

<lehawes_> tantek: Howdy! Lurk away. ;>)

<Loqi> CSSWG has 1 karma

<lehawes_> AnnBassetti: Are you phoning in to the TF meeting as well?

<elf-pavlik> today we go as SOCL

<lehawes_> We really need to get the phone code fixed on the IG wiki page. This seems to cause confusion every meeting. :>(

Thanks Elf

<elf-pavlik> welcome :)

<AnnBassetti> aha .. just saw new passcode .. trying again

<elf-pavlik> scribenick: Lloyd_Fassett_

<lehawes_> AnnBassetti: Thanks, and sorry for the confusion

<elf-pavlik> yes

<lehawes_> AdamB: Hey! Thanks for joining!

Daniel intro. What takes up my time is a project called ? funded by UK technology and research

<AdamB> pleasure is all mine !

dahacouk: it's meta-data for the music industry. I'm also invovled in Drupal. I run a ride share website. And create world peace

<AdamB> http://www.kendra.org

<elf-pavlik> yay dahacouk ☮

dahacouk: Project is called the Kendra Initiative
... I've been using Drupal for rapid development. I employ developers and like to see tools work together nicely. More generally, how can we improve interoperability. It does come back to World Peace with autonomous people with power over their domain.

<elf-pavlik> we met with dahacouk during FSW summit in Berlin 2011 http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/federatedsocialweb/wiki/Main_Page#Past_2011

dahacouk: you won't see deep technical from me, but I know what I want from distributed systems. I hope being in the this group will let me express those things in a better way.

<dahacouk> great

<elf-pavlik> https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialig/Use_Case_TF

Lehawes_: we'r working with the WG to provide Use Cases, but also going beyond their needs to gather wider ranging use cases than what WG needs
... purpose today is to accelerate the rate at which we're collecting Use Cases.
... We have a template for collecting Use Cases.

<elf-pavlik> https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialig/Use_Case_TF/Profile_Scenarios

Lehawes_: We collect ideas quickly and then go back and put them through the template.
... Goal is that we've collected a lot of scenarios. How can we get them into the Use Case format? I want to make sure we have a system set up.

AnnBasetti: When you ask how we can get Use Cases into the right format, what do you mean? We have 18.

<AnnBassetti> we have 18 scenarios

Lehawes_: I'd like to ask that people who contributed put them into the format?

<lehawes_> https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialig/Use_Case_TF/Use_Case_Template

AnnBassetti: It's just a matter of typing.

Lehawes_: The template was contributed by Mark Crawford.

<AnnBassetti> meaning, just a matter of re-formatting the scenario concepts into the use case template format

<elf-pavlik> i'll write one template for Open Knowledge / Code for All directories

<AnnBassetti> Larry: I know people have ideas for more use cases; need to find the time to type them up

<AnnBassetti> Daniel: what's the timeframe

Lehawes_: How can we make it easier for people to contribute scenarios?

dahahout: What's the timeline?

<AnnBassetti> larry: the end-date of the IG is at the end of 2016 ...

<AnnBassetti> ... but we need the use cases now, to be at the front of all the othe work

<AnnBassetti> ... and particularly for the WG

lehwayes: Our charter ends in two years. I think our work needs to be out in front of the other interest groups...in front of the standards spec

<elf-pavlik> dahacouk, we try to use q? q+ q- (happy to explain more details about our IRC flow after the meeting!)

Does anyone know why Mark created the template the way that he did? Is there a precedent for that structure?

<elf-pavlik> Lloyd_Fassett_: we need to add field about 'type of social network'

<elf-pavlik> ... by grouping them we can come up with standard functionality

<lehawes_> Lloyd_Fassett: Will you please expand on what you mean by type of social network

<AnnBassetti> basic intro to using IRC at W3C: https://www.w3.org/wiki/IRC

<AnnBassetti> (very important tool for participating here)

<elf-pavlik> AnnBassetti++

<Loqi> AnnBassetti has 3 karma

<AnnBassetti> Lloyd: examples of types of "social": for business, for personal

<lehawes_> AnnBassetti: What's the source of frustration? :>)

<AnnBassetti> oh, not this group .. we were talking about helping people get going with IRC

<AnnBassetti> Lloyd: type is also related to purpose

<lehawes_> AnnBassetti: Oh, good. Thought it was something to do with this meeting.

<AnnBassetti> no!

<AnnBassetti> sorry for confusion

<lehawes_> No worries, Ann! :>)

<AnnBassetti> Daniel: it's all about "interactions"

<AnnBassetti> ... are there any boundaries about scope?

<AnnBassetti> Larry: not yet

<lehawes_> Sorry your having SIP problems, Elf

<elf-pavlik> happens, yesterday worked fine during WG call

<AnnBassetti> Daniel: getting blurred between what is business and what is pleasure

<AnnBassetti> ... interactions can go from just chatting, sending messages, all the way to payments

<Zakim> elf-pavlik, you wanted to discuss P2P marketplaces, like ridesharing

<lehawes_> ACTION: Lloyd_Fassett will add a section to the use case template for Social Network Type. He'll populate it with some example types and invite us to expand on the list. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/11/19-socialig-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Sorry, but no Tracker is associated with this channel.

Elf: met with Danial met with Elf and they discussed P2P marketplaces like ride shareing and airbnb.

<dahacouk> elf-pavlik: documenting collaborative ideas is good for me. Let's do it.

<AnnBassetti> https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialig/Use_Case_TF/Use_Case_Template

Thanks elf-pavlik. I muted myself

<elf-pavlik> i'll put PLP into a template!

<elf-pavlik> and will try help Bob with his Food Networks

<elf-pavlik> +1 mark on a wiki that you work on a scenario!

<jasnell> I do have quite a few general cases documented here: https://www.w3.org/wiki/index.php?title=Activity_Streams/Expanded_Vocabulary

<jasnell> it's more of a technical view working on the vocabulary but there are use cases I'm building around

<elf-pavlik> AFAIK many univerisities use http://www.dspace.org maybe they would have some use cases...

<AnnBassetti> ACTION: Ann and Adam write up Boeing scenarios [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/11/19-socialig-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Sorry, but no Tracker is associated with this channel.

<elf-pavlik> AdamB, jasnell: what do you think about Q&A service use case?

<jasnell> elf: +1

<lehawes_> ACTION: Any and all IG members can take an existing, documented scenario and translate it to the standard use case template. Put your name in the comment section of the scenario so we know you're working on it. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/11/19-socialig-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Sorry, but no Tracker is associated with this channel.

<elf-pavlik> wseltzer, do you know how we can get call scheduled for tomorrow?

<elf-pavlik> this one

<elf-pavlik> Lloyd_Fassett_, what time?

<dahacouk> @elf-pavlik shall we have a breif chat after this call to schedule the schedule?

<elf-pavlik> wseltzer, SOCL will work

<elf-pavlik> wseltzer, just need to check time

<lehawes_> exit
