ISSUE-133: Are the role and make-up of the TAG adequately defined?

TAG role

Are the role and make-up of the TAG adequately defined?

State:
OPEN
Product:
Process Document
Raised by:

Opened on:

Description:
Adopted from the AB

There has been discussion over the last few years covering topics such as whether the rule about two people from the same member should be retained, whether the TAG should be a Working Group open to W3C members, etc etc.

Are the role and make up of the TAG adequately defined in the Process, or should there be changes made? (Should this be a product instead of a generic issue?)

Related notes:

Extensive discussion reveals that we may need to discuss the size of the TAG, how people come to be members -- how elected, how appointed, by whom -- what restrictions there might be (the 'dual representation' question), how the chair is selected (if the Director no longer wishes to be chair), whether the TAG should have any power (e.g. to force a Director decision on a spec they don't like, like a Formal Objection), and so on.
