Many of the use cases require that we be able to to identify that an object is an educational / occupational credential.
Discussion: EOCred: Addressing requirements from use cases thread from Jan 2018.
Proposal
Create a new schema.org type for educational / occupational credentials. The proposal is that this be a subtype of CreativeWork, though this may be subject to further discussion. There is also a possibility that a more general Credential supertype be created (the work of the W3C Credential Community Group is relevant here).
Name: EducationalOccupationalCredential
Subtype of: CreativeWork
Definition: An educational or occupational credential. A diploma, academic degree, certification, qualification, badge, etc., that may be awarded to a person or other entity that meets the requirements defined by the credentialer.
Note: For those familiar with the Open Badge specification, this type is broadly similar in scope to the Badge Class.
