Minutes Telecon 2015-06-24
- The request for CR publication for will-change was never made, so that will be addressed offline as to continue the progress of the spec.
- Everyone was okay with moving to a publication process where spec authors handle the publication instead of the team contacts doing it. The exact details of the process will be decided on the mailing list.
- Resolved: Publish CR for CSS UI 3
- Florian will handle the publication
- Resolved: For computed values and further, if the
calc()
is a single unit, remove the calc()
and just have the naked value
- Resolved: Accept TabAtkins proposal for removing ambiguity from Resolution Media Query (thread with proposal)
- TabAtkins brought the problem he had creating a replacement for unicode-range-token to the group with two solutions
- We call it a failure and we have have weird special purpose token.
- We accept that the current syntax is hosed and invent a new syntax. Specify the old way for backwards compat, but with a strong warning not to use it.
Opinion was a bit mixed in the group, but ultimately they need to wait to hear back from SimonSapin and the rest of the Mozilla team.
- Everyone felt comma seperation for an+b selectors was possible, but that there wasn’t enough demand to justify the implementation time.
- Resolved: Reject an+b comma separation without prejudice
- The editors will continue to discuss the proposal to modify how inline-block with non-empty block descendants are baseline-aligned on the mailing list once they have had time to look into the mechanics of making it happen, but they are generally in favor of it.
- smfr had some concerns about the reintroduction of elements to nested scrollers as well as the ability to scroll in a diagonal. The group will wait until the spec text is finished to continue the conversation so that there is something solid to base it on.
- Florian requested that people respond to his e-mail with suggested solutions for the issues created by introducing
pre-wrap-trim
in CSS Text 4 (e-mail here)
