How to volunteer as a translator

If you wish to volunteer as a translator for a W3C specification, please write to w3c-translators@w3.org. In your message, be sure to include the URI of the specification you wish to translate and the language of the translation. For the Getting Started document, also add cc:wai@w3.org in your message.

The mailing list w3c-translators@w3.org is also a discussion forum for people working on translations of W3C specifications such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. To subscribe to this list, send an email to w3c-translators-request@w3.org with the word "subscribe" in the subject line (include the word "unsubscribe" if you want to unsubscribe). The w3c-translators archive is available online.

Intellectual Property Rights and translations

Translators must give W3C permission to republish the translated version and to allow readers to make copies without restrictions. The copyright details for translations of W3C specifications are explained in section 5.7 of W3C's IPR FAQ.
