Meeting minutes

<norm> :-)

<tovey-walsh> Can't we have a meeting without Steven?

It's not so much the Stevenness as the knowing-the-password-ness of it

<norm> Oh, I can setup another link if that's all we need

<norm> Voila: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89936484392?pwd=eG5yalBXR2dsaDNJZWlpMnB3SUJDZz09

OK. I'll send email with that to the list, for the record.

<norm> Date: 2022-11-15

Action to JL has been done, at least in part.

Reduced Earley items by 40% but gave a 5x speedup.

Actions to Norm: all done; those that affect normative text awaiting final approval.

Status of implementations

JL has issued a 1.1 version. There was a bug in quoted-strings in character sets, which has now been fixed.

He also now has a pretty-printer. Used in Steven's tutorial.

Joel's implementation is far enough along to be mentioned on the page.

ACTION: Joel to send details of his implementation to Norm, Norm to put it on the page.

JL noted the ixml-related issue in the QT4 work.

ACTION: msm to suggest additional function signatures if desirable.

Issue #145 Character class "LC" doesn't match our grammar

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/145 : The Unicode spec allows a character class "LC" that doesn't match our grammar

Change approved; Norm to merge the PR.

PR merged.

Issue #147 Are control characters allowed in an ixml grammar?

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/147 : Are control characters allowed in an ixml grammar?

RESOLUTION: approve PR #160 and merge Norm's proposal into 1.0++.

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/pull/160 : Forbid C0 and C1 control characters in strings

Norm requests an agenda item for December: should C0/C1 change be an erratum for 1.0?

Issue #147 Are control characters allowed in an ixml grammar?

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/147 : Are control characters allowed in an ixml grammar?

Issue #138 Home page links to ixml.xml and ixml.ixml

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/138 : Arrange for the link to 'ixml.xml' on the home page to be served such that it'll be downloaded not displayed in the browser

Norm reported on Pull Requests #168 and #169 and requested they be approved.

RESOLUTION: To approve the relevant changes and ask Norm to merge the PRs

Pull request #146 description of EBNF to BNF translation

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/pull/146 : First draft of EBNF to BNF conversion document

Norm reports that it needs another update before publication.

ACTION: Norm to update free-standing document on EBNF to BNF translation (PR #146)

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/pull/146 : First draft of EBNF to BNF conversion document

Issue #139 Sample grammars for IRIs and URIs

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/139 : https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/blob/master/samples/URI/rfc-3987.ixml

Postponed until SP is here to make his case.

Issue #137 Document the XML tag set of ixml grammars

<Github> https://github.com/invisibleXML/ixml/issues/137 : We should document the XML tag set that results from parsing an ixml grammar with the ixml specification grammar

<mjoel> On https://www.w3.org/community/ixml/ it states that meetings are at 14:00 UTC. Is the new time fixed at 15:00? If so we should update that page. Also, it mentions Google Meet. Is today's Zoom a one-shot deal?

ACTION: Norm to prototype an alphabetic reference list of elements in the vxml vocabulary, in XHTML, to serve as a basis for discussion.

<norm> The zoom is a one-off, only Steven could start the Google meet

Next meeting

ACTION: SP to edit group page to say we meet at 15:00 UTC (during the winter, at least).
