Meeting minutes

quick updates

IIWOT23

<kaz> IIWOT23 site

McCool: we will invite Matthias Kovatsch to give us some background
… maybe he will available in the main call next week

Zoom vs WebEx

McCool: I have problems with my computer and it seems Zoom causes more problems. I would prefer to use WebEx

Lagally: I would prefer Zoom, however WebEx would also work

Testfest logistics

McCool: we have a TestFest next week

Testfest logistics

McCool: the goal is to create test report for Profile and Architecture
… I scheduled 5 day meetings. Friday should be used as recap

Daniel: the meetings should be synced with the Profile timings that was submitted last week

McCool: we should use 2022.09 folder to provide all the results

<kaz> Date: Oct 3 - Oct 7

<kaz> Time: (tentative) - 1h / day

<kaz> 8am Eastern/12pm UTC Monday and Tuesday

<kaz> 7am Eastern/11am UTC Wednesday

<kaz> 10am Eastern/2pm UTC Thursday and Friday

Lagally: since next week is October the folder name should be 2022.10. However, we should keep it now otherwise it will confuse

Kaz: just to make sure, 1 hour for each day. right?

McCool: yes, but would ask people to work outside of the calls themselves too

Kaz: in that case, we should identify who to make collaboration outside of the calls

McCool: let's talk about that later

Cancellations

Security, Discovery, Marketing, Profiles and Testing are cancelled

Main call will take place

TD will decide later in the TD call

Architecture will also decide later

Testfest - revisited

Logistics - revisited

<kaz> Testfest logistics

<kaz> Target specs - Profiles, Architecture; cleanup in TD, Discovery

<kaz> WebEx tbd

manual.csv for Architecture

<McCool_> wot-testing PR 405 - add manual.csv for node-wot

McCool: there is a PR from node-wot (Daniel) for architecture
… will discuss this PR in detail in Testing call later

McCool: we need more test results. Please share your data in wot-testing / data / input_2022 / Architecture

McCool: all implementers should join and should submit Architecture assertions results

McCool: many assertations are very high level, some quite hard to implement

McCool: Will discuss further in testing call

Review Charter Extensions and Renewal

McCool: WoT IG will run until end of next year, so we do not need to start WG in February
… no problem when we delay

Publications

McCool: end of October is deadline to publish the CR

Ege: there are plans for some binding documents to publish new Note versions
… we should also consider to find additional time slot to work on the binding topics

Kaz: please note that we need to think about the whole structure of the binding mechanism. Binding Templates spec is very important for developers to implement WoT-based IoT systems which include mapping from the other SDOs' standards to the WoT Thing Description.

<McCool_> https://github.com/w3c/wot/pull/1035

McCool: Security is kind of outdated. I like to publish a new version in December or January

Liaisons

OPC UA

Sebastian: tomorrow we will have a meeting with the TCB. We will discuss on the procedure and the formal context of the joint activity.

Kaz: this topic has two points: 1. technical requirements for the expected collaborations, and 2. the gap for liaison procedure between OPC and W3C. We'll talk about the latter tomorrow.

Collaborations

WoT CG

Ege: interesthing meeting last week with presentation about SIFIS Home from Luca Barbato and How to build a community from Philipp Blum

Kaz: collaboration with the community is good, but we need to carefully discuss what to be done by the WoT CG. There has been some discussion on possible transfer of deliverables from the WoT IG, but that should be confirmed by the whole WoT CG first, and then brought to the WoT main call here so that we can review the proposal.
