Meeting minutes

review minutes from August 17th

<kaz> Aug-17

McCool: any issues or corrections to the minutes?
… any objections to publish?
… OK, good to publish

number of organizations haven't re-joined after the new charter

McCool: there is a minimum requirement for voting a new charter for next time
… maybe we should look at the membership and see if there are things we can do to get more participation

Cancellation and updates

<kaz> Cancellations and Schedule Updates

McCool: the W3C calendar doesn't let us un-cancel a meeting, which causes problems
… the cancellations for TPAC will be irrevocable, so we should be sure

Daniel: we would like to have scripting TF meetings the week before TPAC
… the 5th

McCool: the usual meeting times will be inconvenient, so we should cancel most meetings
… any other known non-cancellations?
… do we need a main call the week before TPAC?
… please let McCool know if there are any other changes

Call Logistics - Zoom vs. WebEx

McCool: Webex seems to have a bug, can we switch to Zoom? Siemens doesn't use Zoom internally, but attendance-only shouldn't be a problem
… can we switch to Zoom for most meeting?
… need to wait until we hear from Siemens, but please think about it
… the calendar has new meetings added but still has current meetings that will be unscheduled when we figure out for sure which ones
… also has Webex logistics which may be changed to Zoom

Pre-TPAC meeting

<kaz> Pre-TPAC agenda

APA call

McCool: there are schedule issues
… the APA feedback is important for the charter

TPAC WoT meeting

Liaison meeting

McCool: not sure about OPC-UA meeting, we need more time to cover subjects in depth

TPAC breakouts

Demos at TPAC

McCool: who has demos?

Toumura: yes

McCool: (writing down the demo agenda in the wiki)

Web-based Digital Twins for Smart Cities

Kaz: planning a web-based digital twin for smart city discussion
… would schedule for 4:30 pm

Post-TPAC meeting

Marketing

McCool: for marketing, planning to ask Ege to present a draft and get quick feedback

Kaz: we should be careful about the use of time during TPAC

McCool: we need to have a clear sense of the outcome by the end of the meeting

CR Transition

McCool: we also need to resolve the CR transition
… and we need to have CR candidates ready in time for 2 weeks review
… both Discovery and TD
… but TD doesn't need as much work as Discovery

McCool: any more thoughts on the agenda or content?

Charter discussion

McCool: 2 proposals for deliverables: onboarding and discovery
… for discovery, we need to prioritize
… fo onboarding, there is more new work needed
… there is a deliverable proposals folder

Daniel: we're preparing some proposals for discussion

McCool: the more pre-work, the better
… specifically, good written proposals

Publications

McCool: wide review on TD and Discovery is done, WDs are published
… still waiting for Architecture
… there will be a short window for PR transition

Liaisons

McCool: Sebastian is organizing meetings for the OPC-UA liaison
… September 15th is scheduled, but conflicts with TPAC and Kaz's availability
… waiting to see if Sebastian can reschedule
… no news on DTDL

TF reports

McCool: Scripting

Daniel: had a short meeting, next Monday is cancelled, then we'll meet the wee after to discuss charter

McCool: Security: met to discuss TAG feedback and policy issues in Architecture
… Discovery: resolved a bunch of things, tracking IANA registration, many open issues
… will meet next week and add more meetings as needed to prepare for the 2 week review period

McCool: Marketing: discussed the WoT CG and Marketing TF, how to keep track of official work in the CG

McCool: Testing: will meet today
… TD:

Daniel: no call this week

Kaz: several remaining issues, have asked Sebastian to decide the policy on adding new features

McCool: we also need to add some stuff to Discovery, not features but need to work on the normative content

McCool: we should limit work to bug fixes

McCool: any other thoughts?

Action item review

McCool: Should add the APA feedback as an action item

McCool: what about the Japanese CG?

Kaz: working on the next event, WoT for the Publishing industry
… working on setting a date
… hoping for late September, but still working on it

McCool: spatial data on the Web is more of a discussion group at this point, reviewing OGC work

McCool: working on proposals for deliverables
… maybe have a joint call after TPAC when proposale are ready

McCool: any other business?

McCool: Testing call to follow

McCool: adjourned
