Meeting minutes

Minutes

<kaz> June-6

<kaz> approved

Minutes from last meeting - approved

PRs

<kaz> mmc: (goes through the PRs on the wot-discovery repo)

McCool: https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/334 - CoAP added / https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/337 - CoAP removed

McCool: But these PRs are not inconsistent

PR 336

PR 336 - Fix TLS assertions for TD Server

<kaz> related Issue 335 - Fix TLS Assertions

McCool: Was discussed in Security call

McCool: Does apply not just to http

Farshid: Should be also be there for Directory

<cris_> looks good

<kaz> inconsistencies on TLS Assertions

Merged to clean up inconsistencies

PR 334

PR 334 - Add text for discovery using CoAP

McCool: DTLS removed from PR

<kaz> diff - 7.2 Thing Description Server

Cristiano: http head might not make sense in CoAP (due to blockwise transfer)

Jan: Server can choose to ignore Size2 option

cristiano / jan: node-wot might support it (as self-described thing)

McCool: Could be "marked at risk" in case of no second implementation

McCool: Merge it and improve later, new issue created for improvements: https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/340

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/334 squash/merged

PR 329

PR 329 - Content types: optional tree prefixes and parameters, split req/res content negotiation

McCool: Might also affect CoAP

McCool: Language a bit confusing

cristiano / andrea: Why allow different return content types?

Farshid: Technically equivalent, but differentiate "semantic content"

McCool: Improvement in https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/341

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/329 squash/merged

Farshid: Same also allowed in directories

PR 337

PR 337 - Clean up Discoverer section

McCool: Examples commented out, two other slight improvements

Cristiano: Good idea to remove - maybe confusing - examples

McCool: Decouple from protocols

McCool: Think about reverting commented out examples

PR 331

PR 331 - June 2022 Implementation Report

McCool: Wants to update implementation report, but not merge PR

McCool: Some cleanup in list of assertion necessary, and need to re-synchronize testing tools (for all zero entries)

McCool: Also several at risk features for e.g. notifications

Farshid: Looks like several results are missing

McCool: Will look it up in results from March testfest

McCool: Take care of assertion IDs that might have changed

Christian: How to identify "low hanging fruits"?

McCool: atrisk.csv is omitting "all-zeros"

Idea: Make PRs against todo.csv

McCool: 62 + x (all-zeros) assertions to be addressed

McCool: Leave PR and add more results to June event

McCool: Restart 2-week review?

Kaz: Regarding the spec work, I'm OK with that direction. However, would strongly suggest we merge the latest implementation report and then create new issues so that everybody can review the latest report easily.

Cristiano: Regarding the spec, we should restart the review.

McCool: Consider this version as a CR candidate (which is not CR version)

<McCool> proposal: update .well-known/wot-thing-description to .well-known/wot, merge, and tag resulting version as the CR candidate and start a two-week review process in the main call this Wednesday, June 15.

<McCool> proposal: update .well-known/wot-thing-description to .well-known/wot, merge, and tag resulting version as the CR candidate and start a two-week review process in the main call this Wednesday, June 15; and we will abandon the current WD proposed branch.

RESOLUTION: update .well-known/wot-thing-description to .well-known/wot, merge, and tag resulting version as the CR candidate and start a two-week review process in the main call this Wednesday, June 15; and we will abandon the current WD proposed branch.
