<dvilasuero> thanks tom

<rsinger> heh, well, i'm just too lazy to log out

<pmurray> I'm dialing in now. Got delayed.

<rsinger> wait - who is supposed to be calling in?

<tbaker> ross, you're welcome to call in...!

<rsinger> tbaker: but do i *have* to?

<tbaker> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/index.php?title=FinalEditing&oldid=6017

<tbaker> ross, no, you can follow on IRC

<rsinger> oh, i'm on the editor list, right?

<rsinger> no, i'll call in

<tbaker> ok

<antoine> test line

<rsinger> ok

<scribe> scribenick: emma

ack's

Tom: W3C feedback is we need authors

<antoine> ... it is still unknown if we need editors in that case

Tom: need to write the "about this report section", straightforward task

<rsinger> edsu: i think (in this case) the opposite of "temporary for the comment period"

Tom: next week we'll give the go - no go for each wiki section

<rsinger> but not permanent as in "long term preservation strategy"

Tom: schedule at http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/FinalEditing may be too tight

<edsu> rsinger: :)

Jodi: change the preferences in the wiki to produce a plain HTML output
... + use find & replace ;-)

<jodi> there are the fine details: http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/ssn/wiki/Publishing_Incubator_Group_Documents

<jodi> here are the "export into HTML" details: http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/ssn/wiki/Publishing_Incubator_Group_Documents#Export_into_HTML_from_MediaWiki

Karen: we can hand code the issues easily in the HTML

Tom: divide the work to get back to schedule, starting next wednesday ?

<tbaker> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/ConversionStyle

Jodi: formatting could be handled by 1 person, otherwise waste of time

<jodi> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/ConversionStyle

Jodi: copy-editing (for capitalizations, etc.) can be done by mutliple people
... + multiple people to read the report again

Karen: we need to decide on http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/ConversionStyle

Tom: agreed to do first copy editing, then 1 person to work on the conversion to HTML

Jodi: then proofreading at the end.

conversion style

<kcoyle> library Linked Data

Emma: Linked Data upper case

Karen: "Library Linked Data" upper case if we're talking about the working group, otherwise, "library" lower case

Antoine: avoid LLD, spell it out as Library Linked Data

Karen: other issues, acronyms, case of headings

<jodi> +1 //depends on how recently it's been used

Tom: if sth is to be referred to several times in a paragraph, ok to use acronym. If it's just once, spell it out with acronym between brackets

Karen: RDF, OWL, URI... good cases where it's ok to use acronyms

Antoine: if we have a section on acronyms it won't be a short section ! lots of acronyms in data related sections

<kcoyle> example: Value vocabularies such as LCSH, AGROVOC, VIAF, DDC and GeoNames;

<antoine> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/Vocabulary_and_Dataset#Dewey_Decimal_Classification_.28DDC.29_summaries

Antoine: use links to the side deliverable once available in HTML

<tbaker> ACTION: As part of final HTML editing, add links between sections of the document where necessary. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2011/09/01-lld-minutes.html#action01]

<tbaker> ACTION: Peter, Jodi, and Karen convert wiki to HTML text. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2011/09/01-lld-minutes.html#action02]

Tom: suggestion is to use simply "libraries" instead of other expressions used in the text ; do we agree ?

Karen: not bothered by having museums and archives sometimes mentionned
... most of times we could just use libraries

<antoine> +1 for flexibility

Tom: we can be flexible here

<jodi> +1

+1

<dvilasuero> +1

Karen: style of headers
... pick the level of title that will be title case

<antoine> http://www.w3.org/TR/skos-reference/

<tbaker> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/ssn/XGR-ssn-20110628/

Antoine: "status of this document" could include ref to other deliverables.

Tom: what we call "executive summary" is usually called "abstact"

press release

Antoine: Emma sent a draft

<tbaker> http://www.w3.org/2009/07/skos-pr - SKOS press release

Tom: SKOS press release could be more extensive

divinding sections among editors

<rsinger> obviously confused by my dulcet brogue

Karen: volunteer for appendices

Tom: executive summary

<dvilasuero> i am afraid I have to leave now. i am late for a meeting. I can take care of the use case separate deliverable

I'm willing to work on 5 (current situation) or 6 (recs)

<jodi> I'm putting a link to the stylesheet at the top of the draft report for convenience

<edsu> i'm just going to read the whole thing, it's not that long :-)

<danbri> so is LLD finished?

<danbri> you've all been so energetic... hope something somehow continues!

<jodi> danbri: there's been some discussion of a community group but we're focused on getting the report out at present

<danbri> ah, thanks

<jodi> danbri: promote this, if you can: http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/ideas/view/12278

<antoine> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/Vocabulary_and_Dataset#Metadata_Element_Sets

<edsu> danbri: i like the new tiled background :)

<danbri> oh, the escher thingie?

<edsu> yeah :) maybe it's not new ...

<tbaker> Draft ACTION: [Someone] to post to public-xg-lld asking for a volunteer to copy-edit: check against http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/lld/wiki/ConversionStyle and check acronyms

<tbaker> Use of commas in: "one, two, and three" or "one, two and three"

<antoine> One last thing: http://www.w3.org/2001/06/manual/ @

<jodi> antoine: is that linked from our style manual?

<antoine> no, it should!

<jodi> thanks everybody! :)
