<scribe> ACTION: Dom to run the performances test on a few devices [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/09/09-mwts-minutes.html#action02] [DONE]
<dom_scribe> Dom's report on running the tests
Dom: vast majority of tests
didn't work on the devices I tried, except for Android
... were the devices/browsers I tried too old?
<scribe> ACTION: Wilhelm to run the performances test on a few devices [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/09/09-mwts-minutes.html#action03] [PENDING]
Wilhelm: opposite impression - they run fine on opera mobile, but they take very long
<scribe> ACTION: Kai to run the performances test on a few devices and report back to the list [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/09/09-mwts-minutes.html#action04] [PENDING]
Kai: tests worked, but took ages to run
Wilhelm: did the test actually load on sunspider?
Kai: HTC one crashed; iPhone took
ages
... maybe we should prioritize the tests to try?
Wilhelm: I'm running all of them - it has taken me 2 hours so far
Kai: ok, will get back to this -
will send a message on this this week
... these tests should run on mobile devices
Dom: we could at least improve the size of data needed to download, the memory required, the number of iterations (given that CPU are slower)
Kai: but it's only a matter of time before someone else release a mobile-friendly version of these tests
Wilhelm: new and future browsers are likely to support these tests as is
