About WAI

The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), a W3C activity, advances Web accessibility by providing an international forum for collaboration. WAI's Web accessibility guidelines are widely regarded as the international standard for Web accessibility. WAI also produces support materials.

WAI welcomes participation from individuals and organizations around the world. Participation opportunities range from reviewing, implementing, and promoting guidelines, to participating in a working group as a W3C member organization.
