Socialwg/push-name

From W3C Wiki

This page is left for historical purposes.

Prior to adopting it in the W3C Social Web Working Group, the WebSub spec was known as PubSubHubbub. During the November 2016 face-to-face meeting, the group brainstormed some new ideas for a name for the spec, and finally published an updated Working Draft of WebSub under its new name.

Prior to the face-to-face meeting, we solicited some input on Twitter:

What are we going to call pubsubhubbub going forward?

(What to name this wikipage is irrelevant and not up for discussion.)

Brainstorming

This is the brainstorming list of alternative names for PubSubHubbub, from a Google Doc that we live-edited in the 2016-11-17 face-to-face meeting.

FeedCast

Pros

  • Descriptive as to what it's for
