Results

  • A) once focus was established on the TABLE, which was included in the TAB navigation for the page, the first item JAWS announced was: "Table Column 0 Row 0 Entry Column Header"
  • B) it was possible to navigate the column headers using the LeftArrow and RightArrow keys. The column headers were reported thus:
    • Table Date Column Header
    • Table Expense Colum Header
    • Table Amount Column Header
    • Table Merchant Column Header
    • Table Type Column Header
  • C) Pressing TAB when the table had focus caused focus to move to what was reported by JAWS as an unlabeled edit box. A check of the document source revealed it to be the level 2 header "Menu"
  • D) Activating the column headers resulted in a FF3-generated dialog whose contents read: "sort column on click", but had no other discernable effect.
  • E) From each column header, it was possible to navigate the contents of the column using the UpArrow and DownArrow keys.
  • F) It was possible to navigate between columns by rows using the LeftArrow and RightArrow keys.
  • G) When a cell received focus and the ENTER key was pressed, the value became editable. Pressing the ESCAPE key returned focus to the cell (which was no longer editable, but simply text)
  • H) Pressing CONTROL+ALT+M to "set focus to the menu" didn't initially work, as the desktop hotkey i had set for FF3 was CONTROL+ALT+M. Disabling the desktop hotkey caused focus to be moved to the "Menu" header, which was reported as "Edit"
  • I) Navigating away from the document caused FF3/Minefield to crash. The session was successfully restored, although FF3 did not reload the HTML Spreadsheet sample page.
