This section describes the status of this
document at the time of its publication. A list of current W3C
publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found

by W3C and its Members.
This is a draft document and may be updated, replaced, or obsoleted by other
documents at any time. It is inappropriate to cite this document as other
than a work in progress.

does not carry any licensing requirements or commitments on this
document.

18 August 2025 W3C Process Document.
To register an entry, file an issue in the
Encrypted Media Extensions GitHub issue tracker
so it can be discussed and evaluated for compliance before being added to the registry.
For the entry to be included, there needs to be interest from at least one
implementer in the Media Working Group.
If the Media Working Group reaches consensus to accept the candidate,
send a pull request (either by the registry editors or by the party requesting
the candidate registration) to register the candidate
that meets the following requirements:

Each entry must include a unique HDCP version number, as a string.

Each entry must include reference to the specification(s) for the HDCP version,
with a link if the specification(s) are publicly available.
Once consensus is reached by the Working Group,
the registry editors will review and merge the pull request.
Existing entries cannot be deleted or deprecated.
Existing entries may be changed after being published through the same process as candidate entries.
Possible changes include updating the link to the entry's specification.
