Clicking "Revalidate" with "Show source" checked after validating something in qa-dev HEAD gives:

Software error:

Insecure dependency in eval while running with -T switch at /usr/share/perl5/HTTP/Message.pm line 390.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (ot@w3.org), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

Looks like a bug in LWP. I saw a few bug reports cropping up on the subject, e.g http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=487376 (on... our link checker).

I can't seem to find an easy way to reduce/reproduce yet, though...

The bug in LWP has been fixed by Gisle Aas in October 2008. (lwp 5.817 and above should be ok).

Anyone running into this bug should avoid versions 5.812 to 5.816 of that library.
