This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
Henri Sivonen has created a feature for the HTML 5 validator which helps accessibility checking for images. For each image it displays the image, the position in the document, the content of the alt if present. There is an introductory text explaining how to improve accessibility. I would propose that we add this feature to the W3C validator as it doesn't do harm, and it will help users to improve their documents. It should be optional for people.
Users can just use https://validator.w3.org/nu/ directly.
