IE and Edge, Chrome / Opera and Safari support the property but there is no standard definition of how it should behave.

Are there any statistics on how popular this property is with values other than '1' (which was used in the olden days to work around an IE6-7 hasLayout bug) ?

This doesn't answer the question but Blink measure the usage of 'zoom'. There has been a definite downwards trend over the past years:

Unfortunately we don't have a more specialized counter for the value but we could track the used value fairly easily (I don't think we could hook into the parser easily though).
