If you have a page with the following code tag:

<code><h1></code>

then all the text following that will be displayed in the h1 font in preview mode.

For and example of this, see

http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/guides/html_lists

and choose "edit", then "Show Preview", and scroll down toward the bottom.

This bug does not just apply to preview mode. Browsing anonymously it seems it appears with any permitted html tags (I didn't test them all).

This bug also appears replacing angle brackets with &lt; &gt; entities inside the code element in preview mode. Curiously, if you omit the semicolons from the entities, everything renders as intended in preview mode.

Bug 19849 brings up the issue with content rendering as well. Updating this to reflect broken <code> elements.

Updating to major importance since it needs to be fixed for at least previews to display properly along with content breakage to not occur.
