The Dependencies section states that this specification depends on the HTML5
specification.	However, this specification does not make clear anywhere
whether microdata can be *used* with HTML 4.01.  I don't see any reason why it
can't be and, if this is the case, the specification needs to say so
somewhere.

In the WHATWG HTML spec, microdata is part of HTML, not a separate spec, so this only applies to the W3C spec.
