In addition to using the grid layout example as proposed by Tab, add the suggestion from Hakon in the original email:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2011Dec/0251.html

Something link:

  #region1 {
    color: green;
    flow-from: foo;
  }

  article {
    color: red;
    flow-into: foo;
  }
Comment 3 Vincent Hardy 2012-02-04 07:21:36 UTC
Added code sample as proposed by Tab and added suggestion from Hakon on region styling:

http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/~checkout~/csswg/css3-regions/Overview.html?rev=1.51;content-type=text%2Fhtml#named-flows-and-regions
Comment 4 Rossen Atanassov 2012-02-07 09:12:37 UTC
Paris F2F - make region 4 the "catch all" region that will be used to hold any overflowing content.
Comment 5 Vincent Hardy 2012-03-13 23:11:37 UTC
Layout (using grid) was added to the current spec. editor draft.
