2024-03-05-c: SP to prepare pull request to resolve issue #139 (new grammars, new README)
Steven: Should we have strict, or lax grammars? Are we interested in correctness or structure?
… Should we have policy?
Norm: Michael thought it useful to have a direct translation of the RFC.
John: It is analogous to your credit card numbers.
… it is useful to have the structure and check later.
… it is better to have an understandable grammar, than an exact grammar.
Bethan: I think there's a good argument for having a strict grammar.
… it would be useful to mark lax grammars as such
Fredrik: I've met this problem before.
… When I demonstrated what I did, people criticised me
… you don't need to check everything in a grammar.
… in our cases, we can be lax because we can assume that the input comes from elsewhere.
Status reports
Norm: Working on a new release.
Steven: My server is back.
First Int’l Symposium on Invisible XML
[We rehearse the use of Zoom]
ACTION: Steven to send email to presentors, and offer help
Steven: Let us all send a reminder to our channels
Alan: Will we share the links to Zoom?
Steven: We will put the links on the symposium page
… you can share them with anyone
Bethan: We should remind presenters that the time they have is all they have, so they have to plan their own Q&A
