Logistics
Kaz: think we can ask people about their updates
… and then ask them to add the updates to their ideas on the GitHub page
Koster: yeah
Kaz: ECHONET can provide the same devices they provided for WoT Week last year
Koster: need a dedicated bridge?
Kaz: they themselves should be able to provide one for WoT connection
Ege: what to be checked for ECHONET Lite Web API devices?
… would see the possible binding based on the WoT Binding Template mechanism
Kaz: yeah, you can propose it :)
… let's create a subsection under the "Proposed topics" and start concrete discussion
Ege: regarding the third bullet, interested in WoT Registry
… also regarding the "Demo devices" table, should add concrete information. right?
Kaz: yes
… will ask the ECHONET guys about their devices
… you can also put your devices to the table
Possible Topics
Koster: we already have ECHONET Lite Web API as a possible topic
Ege: would clarify what we expect specifically from external SDOs
Kaz: I'll create sub sections for the "Proposed topic", and then you all can put your expectations to each section
Ege: btw, we should use one-level upper layer for the folder, which we used for WoT Week?
Kaz: we use this "Plugfest" layer for TPAC Plugfests, but I'm OK to moving this README to one-level upper layer
Ege: would ask the others about their ideas also
David: like last year we discovered, look at the group
… want to see what would happen
… e.g., questions about security and interoperability for retail operations
Ege: need to get connected with the others?
David: like last year, there would be somebody :)
Ege: so interoperability of the Conexxus devices with others
Koster: you already have actual specs on your side
David: would also see Binding and Profile
… hopefully will be what people would think
Koster: yeah
… would ask people for opinions around both the mechanisms
Ege: we had problem with checking Profile due to the network connection?
David: by the time early next year, we'll publish our new spec
… to work with both Binding and Profile
Ege: please note that Binding or Profile is not a normative spec
David: but still gives directions for us for interoperability
… need to do this kind of work
Kaz: great!
… please put your ideas to the subsections
… just to make sure, I'll bring the wot-testing/events/plugfest/2025-tpac-kobe/README.md to wot-testing/events/2025-tpac-kobe/README.md
Ege: ok
David: will have the Conexxus Show in Chicago in October
Kaz: so you can bring something based on the demo there to TPAC :)
David: yeah
… would be confident about the milestone
Koster: what else?
Ege: would ask Toumura-san about his ideas also
Toumura: would try some tooling
… get connected with people's devices
Ege: some kind of mash-up
Toumura: yeah
Ege: David is interested the retail domain
… but Toumura-san is interested in more generic mechanism
Kaz: in that case, having "Demo devices" is not really appropriate
… and can be included in the "Topics" section
… also we can describe possible applications
Ege: exactly
… can add those changes
Kaz: in that case, you can move the file to the events layer also :)
Ege: btw, what about the last two topics?
… OCPP and NGSI-LD
David: no
… don't think we have a demonstration about that at the moment
Kaz: let's keep the current list, and also add a specific subsection under the list
Koster: agree
Next Steps
Kaz: can move the README.md to the events layer with the proposed changes quickly
Ege: actually, already created a PR for the current README.md...
Kaz: in that case, we can quickly review it and then I can work on further improvement
… then people can work on their proposals
Koster: ok
Ege's PR 617 - Add more specific topics
Koster: any objections?
(none)
merged
Kaz: will work on further improvements, and then let you all know once it's done
Koster: ok
… anything else for today?
(none)
